Where Golfing Legends Are Made
What is the Format of the Event
How Does the Event Work?? Scoring: Ryder Cup Scoring. If you win the hole you are 1-up. At the end of nine holes a winning team is determined for the front nine. Ties are worth 1/2 point. Team scores are tallied before moving into the afternoon session.
Morning Session Front nine at Den: Two-man scramble. Straight scramble format
Back nine at Den: Alternate Tee Shot. Players rotate who tees off on each hole. In other words, one player will tee off on the odd number holes and his partner will tee off on even number holes. The players determine the order they tee off. After the individual tee shot, the team scrambles in from where the tee shot landed.
Afternoon Session Front nine at PV: Scramble tee shot. Both players tee off and the team takes the best tee shot. From that position, each player will play the rest of the hole by themselves and team will take the combined score. This forces everyone to keep playing the hole even if their partner is looking at an easy birdie. However, the highest score that a player can record is an nine.
Back nine at PV: Straight up mono-e-mono match play against appropriate opposing team's player (based on handicap). For example, an "A" player would play against the opposing team's "A" player. Individual matches would never match up a higher rated player against a lesser player.
